Mike elias

Mike is entering his fifth year as the head softball coach at Loudoun Valley HS and is also the president of the Ashburn Shooting Stars travel program. He began his softball coaching career in 2002 when his oldest daughter was a member of the Leesburg Girls Softball League and has since coached with Western Loudoun Girls Softball, the Loudoun Storm, Fielder's Choice, and the VA Glory. Mike has been able to positively

impact the lives of hundreds of young athletes. Mike has a successful track record of winning programs on the field and, more importantly, meaningful relationships with his players which have lasted well beyond their playing days.

Mike Petrella

Mike Petrella brings a variety of experience to The Ridge as a PE Teacher, former high school Assistant Athletic Director, former high school baseball coach and current travel softball coach. Currently he coaches with the 14-U Team Virginia-Barkley travel softball team; previously he coached baseball at Broad Run High School for ten years. His experience working with baseball and softball players ranges from elementary age to high school students.


His areas of strength include hitting mechanics, infielders' and outfielders' instruction and developing Catchers.

Kelsey Gannett

Coach Kelsey brings over 20 years of pitching experience at the travel, varsity and collegiate level. As an athlete she was named NJCCA pitcher of the year at SUNY Broome and led her team to the SUNYAC conference finals for the first time in 21 years at SUNY Fredonia. Kelsey is a Pasiley’s Pitching affiliate coach and has pitched under numerous softball hall of fame members including her childhood pitching coach Dale Cook.

Joe Bauserman

Coach Joe Bauserman grew up in Loudoun County, playing for both Lower and Upper Loudoun Little Leagues before moving to Strasburg. He attended Strasburg High School prior to moving to Tallahassee, FL – playing baseball and football for Lincoln High School from 2002-2004. During his two years at Lincoln, Joe was an All-American in baseball and received a scholarship offer to play football at Ohio state. Joe ultimately decided on baseball after being drafted in the fourth round by the Pittsburgh Pirates in his senior year as a pitcher. After playing for 3 years in the Pirates organization, Joe decided to pursue a football career as a QB at Ohio State, where he played for 5 years and earned a degree.

Since college, Coach B has been coaching high school baseball and football for over 10 years. He was the head baseball coach at Strasburg High School for 4 years, winning 2 district titles. He has also done individual and group lessons for football and baseball for over a decade, with numerous athletes playing at the D1, D2, and D3 levels in college.
